Composite Bonding at Park Royal Dental Clinic
Composite bonding has become one of the most requested treatments at Park Royal Dental Clinic β and it is easy to understand why. In a single appointment, without any drilling, injections, or removal of tooth structure, we can close gaps between teeth, repair chips and fractures, reshape uneven or worn teeth, improve the colour of individual teeth, and create a more symmetrical, balanced smile.
The technique involves applying tooth-coloured composite resin directly to the tooth surface, sculpting it by hand to the ideal shape, and then hardening it with a curing light. It is as much an art form as it is a clinical procedure, and our dentists take considerable pride in achieving results that look completely natural β not conspicuous or artificial.
Patients travel to see us from across West London for bonding, including from Acton, Ealing, Harlesden, Wembley, and beyond.

Who is composite bonding suitable for?
Composite bonding is ideal for patients who want to improve their smile without committing to an irreversible procedure. It is particularly well-suited to younger patients whose smiles are still changing, those who want to try a new shape before committing to porcelain veneers, people with chipped or fractured front teeth, patients with small gaps between teeth, those with short or worn teeth caused by grinding, and anyone wanting a quick, accessible cosmetic improvement.
It is not ideal for patients who grind their teeth heavily (the composite can chip), those with very dark underlying staining (where veneers may be more appropriate), or where dramatic colour changes are required.
Park Royal Dental difference
Composite bonding is a skill that varies enormously between practitioners. The quality of the result depends on the artistic eye and technical ability of the dentist. Our team has extensive experience in direct composite work and approaches each case as a bespoke artistic project β studying your facial features, tooth proportions, and smile line before placing a single drop of composite.
We also use a layering technique that mimics the translucency of natural enamel, rather than simply applying a uniform block of composite. This creates a result that reflects light naturally and is genuinely difficult to distinguish from your real teeth.
Your treatment journey
How much does composite bonding cost?
Composite bonding at Park Royal Dental Clinic is priced from Β£300 per tooth. A full smile involving 6β8 upper teeth typically costs between Β£1,800 and Β£2,400, making it one of the most accessible full-smile cosmetic treatments available. We offer a detailed written treatment plan with costs before starting. Finance is available to spread the cost if needed.

Composite bonding is not as hard as natural enamel, so some care is needed to maintain it. Avoid biting directly into very hard foods (crusty bread, hard sweets, ice), nail-biting, and chewing pens. Cut hard fruits like apples rather than biting into them. Composite can stain slightly over time with heavy consumption of tea, coffee, and red wine β a hygiene polish can refresh the surface. Most bonding lasts 3β7 years before needing refreshing or replacement.
Composite Bonding FAQs
How long does a composite bonding appointment take?
A single tooth typically takes 45β60 minutes. A full smile (6β8 teeth) takes 2β4 hours depending on complexity. We usually carry out full smile cases in one long appointment, so you leave with your new smile the same day.
Does composite bonding damage my teeth?
No. In most cases, no drilling or removal of tooth structure is required. The composite is bonded to the surface of your existing tooth. This is one of the major advantages of bonding over veneers, which require irreversible preparation of the tooth.
How does composite bonding compare to porcelain veneers?
Composite bonding is more affordable, reversible, and completed in one appointment. Porcelain veneers are more stain-resistant, more durable (lasting 10β15 years vs 3β7 for composite), and can achieve more dramatic changes in colour. For many patients, bonding is the right choice; for others, veneers are better. We discuss both options honestly at your consultation.
Can bonding fix the shape of my teeth?
Yes. Bonding is extremely versatile for reshaping. We can lengthen short teeth, round off sharp edges, fill in uneven surfaces, and create a more uniform shape across your smile.
Will the colour match my other teeth?
Yes. We have an extensive shade guide and take considerable time selecting and layering composite to match the colour, translucency, and characterisation of your natural teeth. In good light, bonded teeth are very difficult to distinguish from natural ones.
Can composite bonding be redone if I don't like it?
Yes β this is one of the key advantages. Because no tooth structure is removed, bonding can be removed or adjusted without any permanent effect on your teeth. If you want a different shape or if the bonding chips, it can be repaired or redone straightforwardly.
