I don't have any pain — do I still have a cavity?
Quite possibly. Most cavities in their early stages cause no symptoms. Pain typically only develops when decay has reached the dentine or approached the nerve. By the time a cavity hurts, it is usually quite large — another reason regular check-ups with X-rays are so valuable.
How long does a filling appointment take?

Will the injection hurt?
We apply topical anaesthetic gel to the gum before the injection, which significantly reduces the sensation. Most patients describe the injection as a brief pressure rather than pain.
What is a temporary filling?
A temporary filling is a soft, easily removable material used as an interim measure — for example, after a root canal preparation. It is not designed to last and will need replacing with a permanent restoration.
Can I eat after a filling?
